St. Ambrose University is delighted to announce President Amy Novak, EdD has been named a 2025 Woman of Influence by the Quad Cities Regional Business Journal.
Dr. Novak is one of ten named to the list which honors and celebrates women who are role models and leaders in the community, mentoring and lifting up others, and trailblazing for future generations of influential women. The list is determined by a committee of past honorees.
“It's deeply humbling to be named a QCBJ Woman of Influence,” Novak said. “I owe a debt of gratitude to the courageous women who include my mother, grandmothers, and other professional mentors who taught me to step through new doors, stay open to unexpected opportunities, and to lead with boldness balanced by compassion. Their strength and vision continue to shape the way I show up in the world — and inspire me to do the same for others.
“Leading as a professional, who is also a mother, has also required me to carve a path that recognizes the power of both roles in my life. My children and spouse have made me a more adaptive, empathetic leader and the workplace has taught me the power of listening to and amplifying diverse perspectives and recognizing the power of humility to transform our culture and our community.”
Under Dr. Novak's leadership, St. Ambrose has implemented innovative technology in the classroom through augmented and virtual learning; reimagined learning across one's lifespan by adding a host of certificate and online program opportunities; and invested in partnerships with local and regional businesses to ensure students are equipped with the skills they need for success in the workplace upon graduation. Most recently, Dr. Novak has led the historic combination of St. Ambrose and Mount Mercy Universities, set to expand academic offerings for students on both campuses and providing a blueprint for the future of Catholic Higher Education.
The Women of Influence winners will be honored at an event on May 29.
