Dr. John Bowser holds a PhD in Population Health Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and has been conducting health program evaluation and research for 15+ years in academic and government settings.
Currently, he serves as a Research and Program Evaluation Consultant with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in Madison, WI. In this role, centered on health within the K-12 education environment, topics include child/adolescent mental health, physical activity, mental health workforce development, and substance use, focusing on both the global topics and issues of disparities and equity within them.
Previously, he served as the Director of the Wisconsin Coverdell Stroke Program with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services in Madison, WI.
John is a 2002 graduate of St. Ambrose University and has been with the MPH program since 2018. He is very excited to use his expertise to contribute to the MPH program and his alma mater by helping to grow the program in size and reputation.
